Huawei Ascend Mate 2′s full HD screen caught in the wild

Well, what do you know. Despite the fact that the original Ascend Mate isn’t widely available — quite the contrary — Huawei is working on its successor. The Chinese company’s phablet is offered by Vodafone UK and (we guess) few other smaller carriers around the world.
Perhaps its Huawei’s own chip we have to blame for the delayed launch, perhaps not. In any case, we’re hoping the Ascend Mate 2 will be available all across the globe, costing less than Samsung Galaxy Note III, LG Optimus G Pro and other phablets. At the same time, we’re looking forward to see Huawei putting “proper components” inside the Mate 2, including a faster quad-core processor and a full HD screen. The last mentioned is pretty much confirmed as you can see from the photos in this post, brought to us by the French site NowhereElse.
What we can see here is a 6-inch display with narrow bezel. That, however, won’t make the Mate 2 more pocketable, but that’s not the point with devices like these, anyway.

Canada’s WIND Mobile launches Huawei Ascend Mate

Canada’s WIND Mobile is expanding its portfolio of phablets with the addition of Huawei Ascend Mate.
The Chinese’s company device was originally announced at this year’s CES when we had a few brief moments to check it out. Then, after getting all the attention in January, not many users cared about this phablet. The reason was simple – Huawei had hard time making sure its new baby can be bought from stores and operators all around the world.
As I’m writing this, the Ascend Mate is everything but widely distributed In the UK, users can get it from Vodafone; we’re not sure about other parts of the world, but we know it’s not available in the U.S.
Specs wise, Huawei’s phablet rocks a 6.1-inch 720p HD screen, 1.5GHz quad-core K3V2 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, 8-megapixel camera on the back, and a powerful 4050mAh battery. Wind Mobile sells it for $99 with a contract or for $399 sans any strings attached.
